How You Can Find Him

Some believe that God is 'out there' beyond the clouds someplace, unconcerned about us or our problems, and is completely unreachable. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." The all in this verse includes every one of us who were ever born on this earth.
Sin is costly to us for the Bible says in the first part of Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, ....." The wages mentioned in this verse is the same as payment.
God did not leave us to deal with these wages of death on our own, however, and provided a gift for us as a way out of the penalty we are due.
In the second part of Romans 6:23 it says, "...but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
and also,
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." Acts 3:19
Repentance means that you have a sorrow for the sins you have committed and have an inward desire to turn from sin towards God.
If you do have this desire, pray this simple prayer with me: "God, be merciful to me a sinner. Forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart and be my Savior, Lord Jesus."
How can you be sure that you are now a Christian? John 3:16 tells us "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." If you believe the prayer you prayed, then you are now a Child of God. Welcome to the family!
In your new life, it is important to:
1. Keep a prayer life. Simply put, this means to talk to God. (Luke 18:1, "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show
them that they should always pray and not give up.")
2. Read the Bible. You will learn how to live this new Christian life as well as learn more about God, all that He has done for
us and all that He wants to do for us.
3. Share Christ with others so that they also will know the gift God has provided for them.
(Romans 10:9, 10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised
him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth
that you confess and are saved.")
4. Attend church regularly. (Hebrew 10:25 "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.")
